How to Use the Micro-Ruler
The measurement process involves three key steps as outlined on the device:
Placement: Lay the object you wish to measure underneath the ruler's grid.
Alignment: Position the object so it is tangent to the "CM-scale" on the right and also touches one of the sloping lines in the grid on the left.
Reading:
First Digit: Read the index figure of the specific sloping line the object is touching on the left.
Second and Third Digits: Read these off the CM-scale on the right side.
Result: Combine these to get the final dimension in thousandths of an inch (e.g., an index of 4 on the left and 36 on the right results in a reading of 436, which equals 0.436
