Effetto Mariposa Carogna Double-Sided Adhesive Tubular Gluing Tape (SM 20 mm x 2 m)

Effetto began by developing the Carogna Double Tape with a clear and ambitious goal to bridge the gap between previously existing tapes and mastic in terms of adhesive performance and heat resistance, while retaining all the benefits of tapes. Carogna has been tested and designed to work flawlessly on any rim material aluminum, carbon, with every tubular seamless handmade vulcanized sew on, on and off road cycclocross, mountain bike. The tape has two application-specific sides: semi-structural and removable on the rim side: adhesion is ensured by industrial grade acrylic adhesive that comes from the base tape. This means that when removing the hose (breaking the bond with the rim), the acrylic adhesive stays on the tape, not on the rim. Acrylic has good adhesion to aluminium and carbon without special surface preparation. Permanent on the tubular side: there is a 1mm thick layer of a recently developed permanent adhesive for underwater applications. This thick adhesive film moves and spreads when the hose is first inflated, ensuring optimised contact with any pipe bottom geometry. Once the adhesion is set, use at low temperatures (up to -40 °C) is no problem. The thermal resistance of all materials used in the manufacture of Carogna was a high priority: Carogna provides perfect bonding at 150°C for extended periods of time (hours), exceeding heat resistance even the best putty and largely exceeding the heat resistance of any other tubular tape. The ideal thermal range for applying Carogna is between 21°C and 38°C, allowing 8 hours to 80% of adhesive strength. It is not recommended to apply the tape below 10°C.
