Product Description U.S.S. Roosevelt From the Manufacturer This ia an Italeri 1/720 scale plastic model kit. The CVN-71 U.S.S. Roosevelt is the 4th Nimitz class Supercarrier and was launched in 1984. Her call sign is "Rough Rider", the name of Theodore Roosevelts Cavalry Unit in the Spanish American war. She has a speed of 30+ knots and can support 90 aircraft. The nuclear reactors drive steam turbines with nearly 300,000 SHP and the ship is capable of cruising 13 years without refueling. She has been deployed around the world many times and is presently being overhauled in Norfolk, Va. Italeri's model is brimming with detail and choices. You can build this ship as a "waterline" model or as a full hull model with display stand. The hull is 18.5" long. The flight deck has a full complement of aircraft, including a variety of 27 airplanes, 7 helicopters and deck vehicles. Naturally, the superstructure, radar and antenna towers, elevators are all finely detailed. Painting instructions and a precise decal sheet will allow the modeler to finish the kit as a perfect miniature of the U.S.S Roosevelt.
