Detroit-born Stanley Miller, known as 'Mouse', gained fame for his distinctive rodent illustrations in notebooks. Miller channeled his creativity into pin-striping cars and designing hot rod posters and T-shirts. In 1964, Mouse moved to San Francisco, where he met artists linked to Family Dog, producers of Avalon Ballroom dance concerts. Collaborating with Alton Kelley, Mouse explored various composition, lettering, and imagery techniques, with Kelley providing concepts and Mouse executing designs. Together, they pioneered the psychedelic art style under the name Mouse Studios.
