This rawhide mallet is the repair industry standard for tapping keys, key cups, dents, dented mouthpieces, brass work and all areas of an instrument. The soft rawhide allows you to safely use this on brass instruments of all types. As this mallet is used the face of the mallet will become softer for a better feel. Some techs break in this mallet by hammering it on the corner of their bench block. New or broken in, it's an essential tool for any shop. Always use safety glasses when working with mallets. Small: 1.0" (25mm) head diameter is 8 inches (20cm) long Large: 1.5" (38mm) head diameter is 9 inches (23cm) long
