This is a SHAWL COLLAR SWEAT SHIRT by NIGEL CABOURN, purchased from Boys Market.
The fabric is a lightweight French terry material originally made by NIGEL CABOURN. It's characterized by its light weight, soft feel, and excellent moisture absorption.
Compared to standard French terry, the gauge is raised, creating a dense surface. This results in a smooth texture. The longer loops on the reverse side trap air, providing good insulation, making it warm and comfortable to wear even in winter.
The garment is dyed using pigment dyes in a special process, giving it a slightly worn-in look. You can wear it from the start with a very natural feel, and it's a piece that you can enjoy the aging process of as you wear it.
The details are inspired by the shawl collars of the 1940s US Army. While vintage versions used wool, this one uses cotton for easier handling.
The long ribbing, the same as vintage versions, adds to the masculine atmosphere.
