• This Whiskey Mash kit contains all the ingredients needed, except spring water, to make a 5 gallon mash of traditional cracked corn & malted rye whiskey. What comes in the kit: 5 lbs. cracked corn, 1 lbs. malted rye, 5 lbs. dextrose corn sugar, Red Star DADY Yeast, LDC Yeast Nutrient, Liquid High Temp Alpha Amylase, Liquid Glucoamylase.
• Corn, traditionally used in Bourbons and Tennessee Whiskeys, provides a rich, sweet flavor. Robust flavors of vanilla and maple syrup as well as white sugar and cotton candy can be pulled through. Sweetness can be offset through maturing in oak barrels. Known for its spice, rye gives a whiskey a pepper and cinnamon tone. It is a great additive, to any hobbyist arsenal. The higher the rye content the spicier the whiskey.
• 7 Gallon fermentation bucket. Heavy duty handles built into the bucket. Includes air tight lid. Made out of HDPE plastic.
