This box set is an archive project compiling early cassette tape recordings from Masami Akita, aka Merzbow. The second series is a compilation of cassette tape recordings from 1981 to 1984, spanning six CDs.

The six CDs included in this box set are: Merzbow CD 1 "Collection 010" released July 2018, CD 2 "Yantra Material Action" released July 2018, CD 3 "Expanded Musik (2)" released August 2018, CD 4 "Musick For Screen" released August 2018, CD 5 "Lotus Club "Le Sang Et La Rose"" released September 2018, and CD 6 "Age Of 369" released September 2018. These recordings are from cassette tapes dating from 1981 to 1984.

The fusion of noise, performance, and rhythm in the six titles included in the "Early Cassettes Box" is a crystallization of the "meaninglessness of music" unique to early Merzbow. It is truly a valuable record in the history of noise music.

Here lies a timeless masterpiece that can only be described as "Merzbow music."
