Beautiful vintage San Damiano–style crucifix plaque featuring a cast brass cross with cloisonné-style enamel mounted on a hardwood backing.
This piece depicts Christ alive and triumphant, with surrounding saints and angels in rich red, blue, gold, and amber tones. The detailing and enamel work are very nicely done and typical of mid-20th century Italian religious imports.

Condition:
Very good vintage condition overall. The enamel is intact with no chips or missing cells. The brass shows light age patina. There are scattered white paint specks on the wood frame and a few tiny specks on the cross surface (likely from prior wall painting). These appear removable with careful cleaning, but I’ve left them as-is. See photos for close-up detail.
